Planning the EFI conversion
Why the original fuelling is going away, what's replacing it, and how the car keeps its soul in the process.
This is the biggest “reimagined” part of the whole project: replacing the original fuelling with modern electronic fuel injection.
Why? Cold starts that just work, fuelling that adjusts itself with altitude and temperature, and no more fiddling before every drive. The goal is a car you can use, not just maintain.
The ground rules for this modification — and every modification on the build:
- Reversible. Nothing is cut or welded that couldn’t be put back to stock.
- Invisible until you look. The engine bay should still read as a classic TR6 at a glance.
- Reliable over powerful. This is about drivability, not chasing dyno numbers.
Next step: the engine comes back from the machine shop, and the manifold gets trial-fitted.
